About The Settle Inn
The Full Story
We have all seen the decline of traditional wet pubs, and it's sad. So many good times and so many great nights out. A lot of the pubs have turned into restaurants, cask ales have declined as they are not easy to manage.
The micro bub has filled the gap. The first official micropub was The Butcher’s Arms, opened by Martyn Hillier in November 2005 in the village of Herne, Kent. Operating out of a former butcher's shop with seating for just a dozen people, Hillier's concept was simple: great beer, no food, and an environment that encouraged people to talk to one another.
The movement has blossomed since then and as Portishead High Street was crying out for its own Micro Pub., the Settle Inn was born.
